It can be a challenge to keep the water in your spa (or hot tub) crystal clear and odor-free. When life gets busy, it can be very easy to forget to add chlorine (or bromine) to your spa, which can lead to problems, especially since the higher temperature of the water makes that chemical balance all the more important. Spa chlorine generators, like the ChlorMaker for example, can greatly reduce spa problems and spa maintenance since they continuously make chlorine every day so that you don't have to add it yourself.
The ChlorMaker makes chlorine on a 3-hour cycle. Every 3 hours, it starts making chlorine, and based on the power level, it will run for a fixed amount of time and then switch to standby mode. At the next 3-hour mark, it will start again. For example, at power level 5, it will be on for 45 minutes, off for 2 hours and 15 minutes (3 hours minus 45 minutes), on for 45 minutes, etc. If you use the spa and let the ChlorMaker know by pressing the boost button, it will be put into boost mode and run for 3 times the normal amount of time. That way, the ChlorMaker can get a jumpstart on replenishing the chlorine that just got used.
Swimsuit-Friendly
The soft water in a salt pool will reduce the effects of chemicals on users' swimsuits. Salt is the main ingredient used in the ControlOMatic chlorinating systems, and it will have a natural softening effect on the water in your pool or spa. Swimmers will be happy to know that their swimsuits are safe in our systems' salt water.
Quit the Chemicals
Generally, it is found that most spa owners use their tub for six months out of the year and will need a lot of traditional chemicals. Installing a spa saltwater system allows spa owners to focus on other parts of their operations and to not need to constantly acquire more chemicals.
Reduced Maintenance
You don’t have to remember to add chlorine every day. Set it up once and the generator takes care of it from there. Your time and efforts will be saved, allowing you to use them effectively in other ways that are in your best interests.
Easier On Skin and Eyes
High concentration levels of chlorine can be hard on the skin and hair. Because the ControlOMatic systems manage and produce a relatively consistent level of chlorine all the time, you would naturally avoid those high-concentration peaks. Bathing in salt water creates skin-softening benefits. Plus, lower concentrations of chlorine mean less eye irritation.
